Exploring is the main way to find items and fight/tame creatures!
While usually you'll just encounter a wild animal or find some neat items, there's a chance you'll come across something mysterious while out exploring.

Entry Requirements
In order to venture out into the wilds of Endymion and explore, you'll need to draw your Ophern in a suitable landscape! There are three Tiers of exploration entry, determined by the effort put into them; the higher Tiers allow you to Camp (reuse) entries more.
The main requirement, outside of the Tiers system, is that your background should match the Exploration Area your Ophern is going to be exploring! You are more than welcome to take creative liberties with each area and design all sorts of weird and wonderful alien plants and animals, but, if you're exploring in, say, the Clearwater River, there should be a river somewhere in your drawing; or if you're in Silver Peaks, we should be able to see some mountains in your art!

Tier One EntriesThe absolute minimum for an art piece to be counted as an exploration entry is a fullbody image with a background. No colour or shading is required. Literature must be at least 500 words.
You can camp once with Tier One entries! |

Tier Two EntriesTier Two is the middle of the road for exploration entries; art needs to be a fullbody drawing of your Ophern, with a background, and colour or shading. Literature must be at least 800 words.
Tier Two entries allow you to camp twice! |

Tier Three EntriesTo be considered Tier Three, an art entry needs to be fullbody, have a background, as well as both colour and shading. Literature must be at least 1,100 words.
As a reward for your extra effort, Tier Three entries allow you to camp up to three times. |

What is camping?Camping is a function that allows you to re-use art for multiple exploration rewards; to Camp, all you need is an item (like a bedroll or a tent) that has that effect! Most camping items (depending on their rarity) can be used multiple times.
Don't have a Camping item now? Schematics can be found by Exploring or purchased from the Riverbank General Store; you can always get one later and re-use your older entries then. |
CLEARWATER RIVER |
lvl 1 - 3 |
The Clearwater River is a broad, sparkling waterway that borders Riverbank. While the portion of the river near the city is shallow, the further north it goes, the deeper and darker it gets. Creatures such as Pelican-Lizards lurk just below the surface, while Red Swans patrol the skies, making this a dangerous place to travel without an Ophern companion.
DEEPWOODS |
lvl 3 - 6 |
Rainforest surrounds the city of Riverbank, dark and mysterious; most explorers prefer to chart the nearby river rather than brave the untamed woodland of the planet. Strange noises can be heard coming from here at night, and those explorers who do venture here report evidence of large predators... but rarely get more than a glimpse of dark fur before the creature vanishes. Deepwoods is full of strange fruit, plants, and wood.
SILVER PEAKS |
lvl 6 - 9 |
The glittering white summits of the Silver Peaks is the source of the Clearwater River and much of the surrounding water. These mountains are formidable to climb or fly through, filled with steep drops and narrow passes, but are filled with useful resources, such as metal and stone, and deadly creatures. Make sure you're prepared before braving this region!
