Code of Conduct
The most basic rule in TDP is that you should always treat others with respect. Don't harass or insult people, etc. (And we get it; sometimes you're just having a bad day. But please don't take out your frustrations on other members! If you're dealing with someone who you think is breaking this rule, send a note to the group and we'll deal with it right away.)
Hate speech is not allowed under any circumstances. This includes homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc.
Communication is key. If you offer to buy someone's Ophern or items, for art/writing or money, and change your mind, it is an expectation that you will inform them within a reasonable amount of time (1-2 weeks is ideal, but at least within a month and a half). If there are chronic complaints about you doing this, you will receive a warning.
If payment has already been received for something you're selling, you CANNOT cancel the deal without refunding them. If complete art/writing was received then you must follow through with the deal, as there's no way to refund the time and effort they put into their work. The only exception is if the person only partially completed their art/writing payment to you and you have been unable to contact them for over three weeks (unless they have notified you that they are out of town for a longer period) you may cancel the deal.
If you have ideas or feedback for the group, you can submit them here; but please remember that the admins have their own vision for the group as well! Your ideas are appreciated and your feedback is essential to make TDP the best it can be, but they may not align with our goals or the vision we have for the group's activities. Please don't take it personally if we don't incorporate them - used or not, ideas are appreciated.
If there's any rules you feel like we're missing, feel free to drop your ideas in the suggestions.
If you feel that one of the group admins is breaking a rule, don't confront them directly. Send a note to mklhn and I'll talk to the admin about your concerns - I will not mention you by name, so if that is a concern you have nothing to worry about. Please don't harrass admins if you have an issue with their behaviour, it's always best to try to discuss things.
If you have any concerns about the actions of the group in general, feel free to contact us about it any time!

Art & Writing
Tracing or heavily referencing another member's art is not allowed unless you have their express, written permission. Even if this is the case, you will not be able to redeem this art for EP.
Plagiarism of written works is also not allowed.
If your art/written work exceeds a PG-13 rating, you should have a mature content warning! NSFW content is not allowed in the group.
Depicting your Ophern eating another Ophern or ARPG species is not allowed. Please don't do this. Fight scenes are cool, though!
- Using photographic reference, however, is a good artistic practice! We encourage you to research animal and human anatomy in order to improve your art, but don't just copy everything wholesale. Not only does this violate the copyright of the photographer, but you aren't learning as much as you could. If you took the photo this is OK, but art traced from a photograph you do not own will not be redeemable for EP.

Selling & Trading
The following rules apply to the selling and trading of TDP assets:
Unless specifically stated otherwise, all TDP items and Opherns can be traded for money, art/writing, or other assets.
You can set the prices of the items you're selling unless the item specifically has a limit on it. Remember that if you overprice an item, people may not be interested in buying it from you. If you're trading art or writing for it, please be mindful of the time it takes to create.
Once payment has been exchanged, transfer the item/goods to someone as soon as possible. This does not apply to commissions, but instead the sale of TDP goods and Opherns. We give a one week grace period to send items before we'll count it as theft; keep screenshots and send it to the admins if you do not receive items within this time period.
If you are no longer interested in buying something (for art or money) please let the seller know! There's no penalty for 'ghosting' someone like this unless we receive multiple complaints about it, but it's always nice to notify them so they can sell it to another person. If payment has already been exchanged, however, the person is not required to refund you so long as they give you what you paid for.
If you're buying something and you're afraid that the buyer might delete the proof of your deal, take screenshots whenever you can! If there's an exchange of more than $60 USD, you can tag an admin to confirm your deal; they'll mark down that the exchange took place and you won't need to worry.
Ads should be submitted to this folder. You may submit the same journal once every 24 hours.
You may split on the cost of an Ophern, but the group does not recognize multiple owners; you'll have to decide between eachother who is the official owner.
You may sell both already uploaded Opherns and undesigned 'genos' (hatchlings) provided that you own them. You can sell them for EP, points, trade them for other things, or money, at whatever price you think is fair.

Breeding & Slots
A 'slot' is the permission to breed an Ophern. A full slot means that you get all hatchlings that result from the clutch, and a split slot means that you and the other user divide up the hatchlings between yourselves. The Ophern's owner must give others slots in order for them to be able to breed their critter.
Some sellers like to put rules on their Ophern's slots.
You cannot sell 'unlimited' slots to your Ophern. This is mostly because they're messy to keep track of. You can sell more than one slot to someone at a time, but each slot permission can only be used once and you will have to create multiple.
Don't sell slots that your Ophern doesn't have available, or if they don't have their Rekene Pennant! If you accidentally do this, refund the person as soon as you notice, but try to keep track of what slots have been sold and used so that you can avoid this in the future. (You can make deals for EP, as long as once that EP is done they'd be at the next level and be able to unlock the next breeding slot perk.)
Some sellers like to put rules on their Ophern's slots.
- For full slots, your rules cannot have any effect on the genos that result. For example, saying that 'if x marking passes, I get that hatchling' is not an acceptable rule. However, you can put limitations on what kind of partner your Ophern can have; for example, 'no inbreeding' or 'no partners with x marking' are perfectly valid rules.
- You may limit the reselling of slots, but you must make inform buyers about these rules before selling the slots! You could make it so that slots purchased from you can cannot be sold for more than what was originally paid, disallow selling the slots for money, or not allow them to be sold/exchanged at all.
- For split slots, your rules can effect the hatchlings that result. For example, 'if x marking passes, I get that hatchling' would work in this case. Remember, however, that if your rules are too biased in your own favour, people may not be interested in doing split clutches with you.

Disciplinary Action
We don't immediately ban you unless you've done something very serious, such as fraud or bullying another member.
You will receive warnings about any infractions you've made; these aren't common occurrences, so please take it seriously when this happens! Repeat offences are not a great idea and could result in a temporary or permanent ban.
If you're banned from the group, we'll give you a date where you can try to join the group again (unless you've done something very serious); we don't want to permanently remove players when we don't have to, so as long as you follow the rules after you come back, you'll be fine. (Although if you break the rules and earn another ban, you will not be given another chance.)
If you're permanently banned from TDP you are no longer allowed to participate in the group. You may have as long as you need to resell any TDP items and characters, but will not be able to submit anything else to the group. You may keep your Opherns' designs and make them into non-Ophern characters, but they must be marked with 'deceased' and will not be allowed to be traded. Permanent bans are only ever handed out if you've done something extremely severe or earned a second ban.
